There is only one winery in Barcelona city limits – Can Calopa de Dalt in Collserola Park. However, within 30 minutes to 2 hours drive from Barcelona there are many amazing wineries perfect for taking a day trip.  Wineries are located within 15 to 150 kilometers from Barcelona and can be accessed by car, by train or on a wine tour.

Here are a few notable wine regions near Barcelona:

How to get there: The drive from Barcelona will take you less than an hour. 

To reach Mas Comtal without a car, take the R2S train from Barcelona-Sants to Sitges, which is a 35-minute journey. From Sitges, you can take a taxi to Mas Comtal.  The taxi ride would take 25 minutes.

Familia Torres has one of the oldest, most esteemed, and largest wineries in the Penedès wine region. For five generations, the Torres family has been actively engaged in the art of winemaking since 1870 when Jaime Torres founded the winery in Vilafranca del Penedès.

Carles Andreu is a charming family-owned winery dedicated to growing grapes near Tarragona since the 18th century. La Vinyeta

La Vinyeta is a remarkable winery to the north of Barcelona near the French border, approximately 1.5 hours by car.  

The winery is owned by the adventurous couple, Josep and Marta, who, despite having no knowledge of wine, took a risk and purchased their own vineyard. Their story is truly inspiring. 

At La Vinyeta, you can enjoy fascinating wine tours and tastings, picnics beneath the olive groves, and savor their exceptional wines paired with homemade garden salads, traditionally cured sausages, and local cheeses. Additionally, you can experience yoga in the vines. La Vinyeta offers overnight stays. 

I would also recommend checking out ahead for music events at La Vinyeta which ocasionally hosts musicians and dancers.

English-language tours run daily at 12:30 pm during the summer and Monday through Friday off-season.

Quick tip: you can combine your visit to La Vinyeta with trips to Girona, Dalí’s Theatre-Museum in Figueres, as well as the breathtaking beaches of Costa Brava.

Also located in the charming town of Porrera, Álvarez Durán is a family winery that produces limited quantities of high-quality wines from their two plots just east of the Priorat wine country.

Fina and Salus, the friendly owners or one of the family members, will welcome you into their home and share the rich wine history of Porrera. 

Álvarez Durán produces whites, reds and sweet reds.

A typical visit may last 2.5 hours and includes meeting at the family home, a walk through the town of Porrera, a ride to the vineyards, a tour of the winery and a wine tasting.

How to get there: From Barcelona I recommend arriving by car.  I would take you approximately 1.5 hours to reach Porrera.
