ABRUZZO ITALY – How to Make Pecorino Cheese & Handmade Spaghetti Pasta

Day 2: Italy Unexplored
Agriculture, cheese making, a visit to a pasta LEGEND and institution of Pescara, wine tasting and relaxing on the beach

By the second day our wonderful group have already bonded and many laughs have been shared. With the theme of tradition strong on the itinerary today, we take a trip closer to the mountain side to visit a farm (Made up of over 1000 hectares!) where time has stopped and all of the ways of the shepherds are honoured. The land and animals are appreciated and we eat some of the freshest cheese on the planet! After a visit to the animals and a long lunch of delicious, organic food all sourced from the land, we share a few wines and then get our hands into making some quality cheese!

From here we take the scenic route back to Pescara through a not-to-be-missed photo opp where all the mountains seem to meet and the view is outstanding.

It’s then time for a short visit through the modern city of Pecara before a visit to a pastry institution. A shop from 1965 where all the best regional cuisine is made fresh every single day.

Then we’re off for some wine tasting before relaxing on the beach right by the water. Can it get any better than this? Stop, switch off and take it all in…
